As a
community of learners, Kilvington strives to provide inspirational,
rigorous learning experiences in a challenging, cohesive environment
where each girl’s social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and
physical development can thrive.
In essence,
we do this by staying abreast of the latest educational research;
consistently evaluating programs and curriculum initiatives, meeting
the individual needs of each student according to her age and stage of
development and, most importantly, adhering to our core value – a
genuine respect for the individual.
Kilvington’s core value goes back to 1923 when the school was first
established. The challenging spirit of its founders Caroline and
Constance Barrett is embodied in the School’s commitment to the whole
education experience.
They
envisioned a Kilvington girl as one who has ‘character’ - strong
values, resilience, independence and the motivation to be actively
involved in life and the opportunities on offer.
This is summed up in the School’s mission statement 'Kilvington: a
spirited progressive community that: nurtures belonging, ignites
curiosity and inspires a passion for learning.’.
