Purpose
The Secondhand Book Sale operates each year by voluntary PFA staff. It gives parents the opportunity to
sell this year’s books and to buy secondhand books for next year. The sale only deals in year 7 through 12
books.
Sale Date
Saturday 28 November 2009 from
10.00 am to 11.00 am Submitting Books for sale
Students should download the PFA booklist from the Kilvington website:
www.kilvington.vic.edu.au/
ourcommunity webpage, and use it to determine which books are available for sale. Students are to
complete this application form and pack the form and books in a plastic bag. The bag can be left at Senior
School Reception all day Thursday until end of school Friday before the sale dates. VCE students can leave

before sale days.
Buying Books on Sale Day
Also use the PFA Booklist to determine which books will be available for purchase on sale day.
On sale days, no parents will be admitted before sale time. We operate a ticketing system where each
parent is given a numbered ticket upon arrival. Parents are admitted in groups of 10 to avoid congestion.
We accept cash, cheque (made payable to Kilvington PFA), EFTPOS and credit card (Bankcard,
MasterCard and Visa).
Conditions
- Sale price will be 60% of the new price printed on the Kilvington booklist.
- If the book is sold, 20% of the sale price will be retained by the PFA as a selling commission. This is
used by the PFA to assist the School in funding special projects. The balance of the sale price will be
credited to your daughter’s next School account. If your daughter is not returning to school then a
cheque will be posted to the address listed on the School records.
- Books not sold and requested for return, will be available for collection from Senior School Reception on
the Monday after the sale days.
- Books not sold and not requested for return will be donated to a charity.
- Students will be emailed after the sale with a status report of all books submitted. Please check your
school email.
- Under all circumstances Kilvington Girls’ Grammar and the Kilvington PFA and their staff and members
are completely absolved from any liability, or for the loss, damage or theft of books
- Where a particular edition is specified, the PFA Booklist will not accept other editions of a title
- The Secondhand Book Sale deals only in year 7-12 Secondary School books. Please ONLY submit
books listed in the PFA booklist. We cannot sell any other books.
- Where CD ROMs accompany the text, the ORIGINAL CD must be included for sale. If the CD is
missing, the books will be clearly marked (“CD Not Included”) and sold for $5.00 less. These books are
ideal as second-copy books to be kept at home, and save your daughter the effort of taking books to
and from school throughout the year.
