The Madrigals are distinguished by their ambitious musical selection, soaring voices, and exquisite harmonies. Drawing on a wide range of sacred and secular music, the group's renowned performances have won them high praise from many music critics and judges around Victoria. The Madrigals have done extremely well in several competitions, including regularly winning the Ballarat Eisteddfod and reaching the finals of the ABC Choir of the Year in 2006 - an excellent result for a school choir. The group also participated in Hobart's Festival of Voices in 2009.

Members of the group have toured nationally and internationally. A selection of the Madrigals visited China in 2007, during which they gave a well-received performance at the Chengdu Music Festival.
