Across the Story Bridge

Do you believe in the magic of books?
Can you do your part to keep stories alive?

In this ELC to Year 4 musical spectacular, the Magic Rainbow Fairies and Oompa Loompas went on an enchanting journey into the lands of other books by crossing a magical bridge, whilst in search of their own books. Along the way they met wonderful friends, saw incredible sights and learned some important lessons.

The musical was performed on the 7th and 10th of September 2010,
and was a fantastic success – here are the photos to prove it!

Entries for Design

We received many brilliant entries from students for our Across the Story Bridge design competition. The spectacular winning entry was designed by Madeleine Wong in Year 4.

Seussical: the Musical

Seussical: the Musical is a mayhem-filled romp through the world of
Dr Seuss. In 2010, Years 5 and 6 staged this madcap adventure!

A red-and-white striped top hat is on an empty stage when JOJO enters
and is drawn toward the magical hat. He begins imagining what type of wonderful person would wear such a hat, when THE CAT IN THE HAT suddenly materialises! THE CAT begins singing about the power of imagination (Oh, the Things You Can Think!).

Throughout the song, famous Suessian characters are introduced: HORTON the Elephant, GERTRUDE McFUZZ – the bird with the one-feather tail, the WHOS of Whoville – including the MAYOR and his WIFE, MAYZIE LA BIRD, SOUR KANGAROO and the CITIZENS OF THE JUNGLE OF NOOL. As the opening number comes to a close, THE BOY and THE CAT use their imaginations to transport everyone to the Jungle of Nool for the first adventure (Horton Hears a Who).
