Coeducational Kilvington
Welcome
In 2010, Kilvington made the historic decision to make the transition to coeducation. The introduction of boys begins an exciting new phase of the School's future. By learning within a rich and diverse coeducational environment, girls and boys will gain broader opportunities to achieve academically and to experience situations they will encounter in the real world, supporting Kilvington's goal of providing a holistic education within a safe, happy learning environment.
Our coeducational model considers girls’ and boys’ specific needs at various stages of their development. A coeducational environment has been created for ELC to Year 6 students from 2011. To reflect the gender-specific needs of students during their formative years, it is our intention to introduce separate classes in four key subject areas for girls and boys in Years 7, 8 and 9 in future. Separate classes will begin as soon as sufficient numbers of boys are enrolled. Senior students will learn together in Years 10, 11 and 12.
