Technology at Kilvington
Kilvington pioneered the use of computer technology, being one of the first laptop and wireless schools in Australia. We are proud of these achievements, which played a key role in bringing technology into Australian classrooms.
We believe that a proactive attitude toward technology is essential. The inclusion of laptops for students from Year 7 gives students sufficient time to build up advanced skills over the course of their education.
Many different types of technology can be used to support and enhance learning. Everything from video content and digital moviemaking to handheld technologies, virtual environments and podcasting are being used in our classrooms. Technology is used at Kilvington to support enquiry, enhance communication, extend access to resources, guide students to analyse and visualise data, enable product development and encourage expression of ideas.
Kilvington’s technology resources, both hardware and software, are kept up-to-date and include interactive whiteboards or interactive projectors in most classrooms, both Windows and Mac platforms, K-Online for students and Continuous Online Reporting for parents.
