At Kilvington, we value innovation as a bridge between the realities of today and the possibilities of the future. The world that our students face involves rapid change, technological advancement and large-scale challenges. In response, we provide students with a Kilvington education that fosters a creative learning environment of personal excellence, independence, growth and global engagement.
In recent years, Academic Faculties have been asked to develop an Innovative Faculty Project aimed at improving learning quality, participation and outcomes for students. Each project has been required to:
- fall into one of the three types of educational innovation (i.e. continuous innovation, incremental innovation, and transformational innovation)
- demonstrate a strong belief in students’ potential
- make teachers the driving force of instructional leadership
- set targets for improvement, and modify these in light of experience
- incorporate whole-class or large-group explicit teaching, small-group cooperative learning and teaching, and one-to-one tutoring into their innovations
- enhance Kilvington's learning network and partnerships
