Introduction
How We Learn
Kindergarten to Yr 4
Middle School Cluster
Senior School Cluster

People learn differently. At Kilvington we teach the way our students learn best. So teachers implement a range of activities that span multiple learning styles. The Kilvington learning community provides opportunities for each girl to use her particular preferences and talents to learn and demonstrate what she knows. But we do not stop here. The one certain thing about our future is change and any change requires learning. All individuals need a collection of tools and styles for learning. So a key goal for ‘Teaching and Learning’ at Kilvington is to build each girl’s toolbox so she may develop across the word, logic and math, space and vision, naturalistic, body, music, people and self dimensions.

Teachers at Kilvington are also focused on empowering students by building student choice into the design of research projects, assessment tasks and subject selections. Students and teachers collaboratively identify themes and units of study that are of interest to students. Learning is a collective responsibility and commitment at Kilvington. In partnership with students and their parents, the teaching staff at Kilvington contributes substantially to the provision of a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
