Scholarship Opportunities

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

These scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic examination and an interview.

If you have applied for an Academic Excellence Scholarship, there are no additional requirements for applicants.

MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic examination, an interview and an audition. 

We require a minimum of AMEB Grade 4 level for Year 5,  AMEB Grade 5 level for Year 7 and AMEB Grade 6 level for Year 9 entry.

Music Scholarship recipients are required to participate in choir as well as a minimum of two ensembles through until Year 12. 

If a student enters Kilvington in either Year 9 or 11 on a Music Scholarship, they will be required to study VCE Music.

GENERAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

General Excellence scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic examination, an interview and evidence of the student’s active participation in a range of activities outside school.

If you have applied for a General Excellence Scholarship, you are required to submit a portfolio for your child. It can include school reports, NAPLAN results, and information including levels of achievement in any other activities they are involved in outside  of school. Portfolios can be submitted as a hard copy or electronically no later than 10 February 2024. Either email your portfolio to the Director of Admissions, Liz Chegwin, chegwinl@kilvington.vic.edu.au or deliver to Main Reception.

CONDITIONS

We expect successful students to fully participate in school life through to the end of Year 12. Please be aware that if a scholarship student chooses to leave the School before the completion of Year 12, the value of the scholarships must be repaid in full.

If a scholarship offer is made, acceptance and fees payable are required within two business days.

Available Scholarships

PRIMARY ACER SCHOLARSHIP TEST:

Apply for this if your child will enter Year 5 in 2025.

SECONDARY ACER SCHOLARSHIP TEST:

• Apply for a 'Level 1' if your child will enter Year 7 in 2025.
• Apply for a 'Level 2' if your child will enter Year 9 in 2025.
• Apply for a 'Level 3' if your child will enter Year 11 in 2025.

Academic Success

In 2023, 5% of our class in the top 1%, and 9% in the top 2% of the State, achieving an ATAR of 99+ and 98+ respectively.
